Dear Mum and Dad,

Your letter was full of interest as usual.  The cold went without becoming a cold so all is well.  Pleased the girls are in form and Elisabeth is home.  That is another step forward.  My relief arrives on Saturday and we are now starting a 3 day holiday for Chinese New Year and luckily something is arranged for each day.  Was out on a boat yesterday, well wrapped up and had a good blow.  Plenty of sun too and hope for more during the next few days.  Our computer date is to come forward to before my departure now instead of afterwards; this will add to the hand over.  Many offices have "gone on" since 1st January and it appears to be working well so far.  I cannot remember Henry's letter clearly but he did say something about a trip - you should get a post card when he arrives.

Must rush to count the end of month cash so
