Dear Mum and Dad,
Many thanks for your letter which I have not got by me, however, I remember you wanted the plane times so they are produced above. Singapore is quiet now and we spent an enjoyable Sunday at Tanglin Club, swimming and having a good lunch in a new air conditioned room. I sold my de beers before they went right down (47 1/8) wish I had done so earlier but am out of touch here. Would like to get back in so am watching carefully. The girls seem quite happy from their letters and getting ready for their exams. I am keeping an eye on the mango tree - there is a heavy crop and I hope they do not ripen before the girls arrive to eat them. Mangoes do not keep and it would be a pity to waste so many. Kuala Lumpur is quieter now and business hours have been extended, but the still have a curfew. We were lucky in Johore to miss all that bother.
Am viewing a second car. Quite a cheap one but have decided that it would be easier for Margo on her trips to Singapore not to have to rush back to collect me from the office. Hope I have not one so cheap the bottom falls out but it looks ok and will have it checked first anyway. Am also getting a driver for the time Margo has the children to take about as this will make life easier.
Cheerio for now and love from
Margo and Peter.
