Peter Henry Briggs

My father, Peter Henry Briggs, worked for the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) from 1950's retiring in 1980's. He was in the Foreign office of the bank and wrote to his mother from the countries he was posted to in the Far East. The letters detail his life in the various countries, a bit about his work and about his family, my mother and his four daughters. I will try to add some photos from his albums to go with the letters - if the technology works!

The countries include, Malaysia, India, Borneo, Hongkong, Japan and Singapore. The names of places are as he wrote them in the letters. For instance Jesselton which is now Kota Kinabalu and Calcutta, now Kolkata.
